Groove Cruise Miami 2019 details
If you’ve been following Groove Cruise for any amount of time, you know one of the special things this festival does is provide a unique experience on every sailing.
New ships + new destinations = new experiences.
The recently released Groove Cruise Miami 2019 details tick every box in the “raising the bar” checklist.
The dates – January 10-14, 2019
First, let’s talk about this 4-day itinerary. Having been on several sailings, I can confidently say that I love 4+ day itineraries. This seems to be the optimal amount of time to really disconnect from your regular life, get to know your new GCFAM, and let loose.
The home port – Fort Lauderdale
This is a big one, so pay attention. Groove Cruise Miami has traditionally sailed out of PortMiami.
For 2019, the home port will be in Fort Lauderdale. The official name is Port Everglades, and getting there is easy.
Lots of people fly into FLL (instead of MIA) anyways due to the lower cost of flights, and even if you fly into MIA, getting to Port Everglades is easy. It’s just 30 miles from Miami. The FLL airport is just 2 miles from the cruise port. More travel information to follow.
Why the new port? More options for the GCFAM. Different cruise line+ship+destination combos which leads me to my next point…
The ship – Celebrity Infinity
This is by far the most luxurious ship Groove Cruise has ever sailed on. I really don’t need to say much more than that. I mean, who’s going to turn down more luxury? Not me. You can check out the Celebrity Infinity details here.
Bonus: The cost to us is less per day than MIAMI 2018. Nicer ship, lower per day cost. Can’t beat that!
The destination – Key West AND Cozumel, Mexico
MIAMI 2019 is bringing the GCFAM to two stops – Key West, Florida, AND Cozumel, Mexico.
Key West, Florida. This is a new destination for Groove Cruise, and you know they’re working on something special. Lots of crazy stuff already happens in Key West. Just wait for the GCFAM takeover.
Cozumel, Mexico. It’s been five years since Groove Cruise journeyed to Cozumel. In fact, it was for the festival’s 10 year anniversary. That event has a special place in my heart, since it was my first Groove Cruise. Five years later, the GCFAM is headed back to Cozumel for the festival’s 15 year anniversary. Cozumel is a fun destination with warm Gulf of Mexico waters, lots to see and do, and venues just asking for a Groove Cruise transformation.
