Groove Cruise Cabo Travel Information

Groove Cruise Miami 2016 Official Pictures 3 1024x663

I’ve put together this handy guide to help you plan your Groove Cruise adventure. Once you’re on the ship, everything is pretty much taken care of. I hope this information helps you plan your travels and lets you focus on more important things like…costumes for the theme parties or what inflatable pool toy you’re going to bring.

Destination

No matter where you’re coming from, this is where you’re going to want to end up to board the ship:

San Diego Cruise Ship Terminal
1140 N Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101 (map)
https://www.portofsandiego.org/recreation/cruise.html

It’s about ten minutes from the airport (depending on traffic).

Flights

If you’re flying into San Diego, you can use a site like Kayak or Expedia. I also really like to use Google Flights.

This is the closest major airport:
San Diego International Airport (SAN)
http://www.san.org/

Be sure to check smaller airlines like Southwest or regional carriers. They usually aren’t included in the major flight search engines, so you’ll have to look them up individually.

Shuttle/Taxi/Uber to Cruise Port

You’ll probably find yourself needing a more private form of transportation for the final stretch to the cruise port. If you’re staying in a hotel before or after the event, be sure to check whether they offer shuttle service to the cruise port and what you have to do to take advantage of that.

If you’re planning on taking a taxi anywhere, I strongly suggest you consider using Uber. If you don’t know what Uber is, it’s a ridesharing service that is easier, cheaper, and more convenient than using a taxi. Just download the app to your phone, and you’ll be able to calculate your fare, request an Uber pickup, and even pay all within the app without having to use cash. Read more about how Uber works here.

Hotels/AirBnB

If you want to spend some time in San Diego either before or after GCCABO, and you don’t have someone you can stay with, you can use sites like Kayak or Expedia to find great hotel deal.

The cruise port is very close to the downtown area, and some of them offer shuttle service to the cruise terminal.

If you’re looking for a more affordable experience and/or accommodation that better represents living in San Diego, check out AirBnB. AirBnB is a room/house sharing service that allows people to rent their accommodation to you. You can save some serious money by renting just a room in someone’s place, or you can rent an entire place for you and your crew (usually for cheaper than a hotel room). Parking

If you’re driving to San Diego, I’m sure you’ll need somewhere to park your car. You can just run a quick Google search for San Diego cruise port parking and review the results. These results will likely have a complimentary shuttle from their parking location to the cruise port.

Also, you can run a search for San Diego airport parking and check out those options, as well. The airport is so close to the terminal that you could just Uber to and from the parking location if you end up finding better rates.

Final Words

Using the travel info I’ve shared, you should be able to easily create a game plan for your pre- and post- Groove Cruise Cabo travels. See you on the ship.
