Do I Have to Attend the Port Party?
Groove Cruise perfectly marries a music festival, cruise line amenities, and travel.
There is a strong bond between electronic music culture and travel. Part of the excitement of attending massive music festivals is experience the destination where the venue is located.
Whether that’s Miami, Las Vegas, or an exotic island in the Caribbean, traveling is part of the music festival experience.
If you’re like me, then you also enjoy travel and that aspect of music festivals.
Groove Cruise takes the party to sea and transports attendees to exclusive destinations. Once there, a private party ensues.
If you’ve never been to the Bahamas, Mexico, Jamaica, Grand Turk, or wherever this year’s sailing is taking you, you may find yourself wanting to take advantage of this opportunity to explore the destination port city.
If that’s the case, then I have good news for you – once you’ve arrived at the port, you’re free to do what you’d like as long as you’re back on the ship on time.
You can go to the private party (obviously, and I suggest you go as they are absolutely unforgettable), but you can also go on shore excursions offered by the cruise line or even just explore the city as you would during regular travel plans.
For example, we had already been to Cozumel and the Bahamas, so we elected to make the most of the private party when Groove Cruise took us back. We met a couple in Cozumel who were skipping the beach party entirely because they wanted to explore (the party was such a good time, though!).
But when we went to Catalina Island, we chose to get a bird’s eye view of the island plus an adrenaline rush by zip lining. In this instance, we even had time to go back to the ship to eat and make it back to catch 1.5 sets during the beach party.
My Advice
Personally, I love traveling and exploring new destinations, but I can also attest to the special experience that is the Groove Cruise private parties at the destination ports.
With that being said, I suggest that you choose one of the following options:
- Attend the private port party in its entirety
- Spend half the day exploring and half the day at the private port party
You can’t really go wrong with either of these options, as you’ll have a great time.
If you go with number 2, try to be one of the first ones off the ship in the morning. You’ll be able to get your exploring in and get to the party just as it’s reaching peak hour.
